As Chief Risk Officer, Dino actively works with our investment team on portfolio construction, monitoring and decision-making tools and analyses.
Dino has over 25 years of experience in risk management roles, having started his career at Barra in Montreal as Senior Manager advising institutional clients, and then as Director in London, managing a consulting team with global clients. At CDPQ pension plan from 2005 to 2016, Dino was Director of Advisory Services, working on equity risk management using factor models on both internal and external mandates with a collaborative and proactive approach. He also specialized in long/short portfolios and was responsible for risk regarding the CDPQ NY Long/short operations with a gross exposure of $4 B. He developed a program utilized for following internal and external equity portfolios used by investment committees responsible for managing more than $100 B. He subsequently worked on establishing a startup alternative asset management firm.
Dino holds a Masters in Finance from Concordia University, where his thesis on the effects of war announcements on stock prices was published in the Journal of Applied Business Research. Dino maintains rigor in his work while he builds effective trusting relationships. Outside of work, he has been involved in coaching hockey and soccer teams of junior athletes.
